: 'The Piano Accordion - transporting melodies into arrangements for performance
and pleasure'. www.gleanings.co.uk
I will be leading this fun and inspiring workshop for accordionists of intermediate
standard and above with the aim of taking simple melodies and developing them
into arranged pieces for the solo accordion. There's so many ways you can develop
your music, with the idea in mind to dynamically build up your interpretation
of the music, really make it your own and work within boundaries that give you
confidence. We'll look at ornamentation, variation, developing themes within
the melodies and basslines to different approaches to intros and endings. There
will be guidance on how to link a medley together and how to develop your confidence
whether playing for yourself, in a session or to a wider audience. . . This
course is designed to give you ideas to take away and use in your whole repertoire.
Notation will be supplied and participants are advised to bring recording facilities
and a music stand.
